i just bought a quaker boy double dog 2in1 call I can get thedistress squaller to sound real, but i'm not doing so good with thecoyote howler.I have followed the directions on the package, but find it sounds more like a crowcall than a coyote call Anyone know what I am doing wrong ?

I dont claim to be a predator calling expert by no means but you may just need more air pressure....(blow harder and longer stream of air..)

I'm gonna have to agree with Scott on that one.

I too am not an expert but I do own the call. It's important to blow from your lungs instead of your mouth (if that makes any sense). The instructions probably ask you to say a word to emulate this.

Thank for the help guys.Iadmit I MAY NOT BE THE SHARPEST PENCIL IN THE BOX,BUT THE DIRECTIONS SAY"THE CALL SHOULD BE HELD SO THE OPEN REED HOWLING SIDE IS ON THE LEFT"AND "TO HOWL,PUT THE OPEN REED SIDEOF THE CALL IN YOUR MOUTH WITH YOUR TOP TEETH @ THE END OF THE REED AGAINST THE STOPPER. THE WAY MINE CAME IN THE PACKAGE,I WOULD NEED THE REED SIDE ON THE RIGHT TO HAVE MY TOP TEETH AGAINST THE TOP OF THE REED mAYBE THIS IS PART OF MY PROBLEM,MAKING IT SOUND MORE LIKE A CROW CALL i REAIZE IT ISN'T A RUBICK'S CUBE, I' JUST AFTER THE CALLING SOUND I EXPECTED,BUT SO FAR I'M NOT EVEN CLOSE

Try to not blow as hard like on a turkey diaphram call.
Good Luck!

Turkey mouth calls dont require much air to run...??? A predator call does require more air. It's a metal or plastic reed your blowing not latex rubber....

Try moving your teeth away from the stopper and use your upper lip to control the pressure on the reed. If this does not work, try turning call in the oposite direction so as open reed is down and use light pressure on reed with your bottom teeth. Both ways work very well for me.

i let my son play with the call. got it back and it was reversed like yours was. it wasnt like that before. if you turn or spin your housing that your reed sits in turn it 180 degrees now it will be on right side. it does take more air than others to run i have noticed. good luck. ...Quaker Boy Pro Staffer Dave Nicotera...
