youth hunt a success....

17lb osceola 1 " spurs 9 3/4" beard. It was literally a two minute hunt. After getting whipped that morning and having a nice lunch. It was the first place I called at about 2:30pm. I clucked and yelped and nothing. I cut really fast and hard followed by a yelp and a hen started cutting and yelping back. She was close. Maybe 60-75 yards. We only had time to kneel down. As I was starting my descent to my knees I saw the gobblers head glowing and coming. The bird stepped from around the head at about 35 yards. Boom, the rest is a memory. It was truly a cool hunt....Tip of the day. Any time you get a hen responsive and coming set up on her. You never know who may be with her. I was calling the gobbler from the hen. Im sure that was what her fussing was about. She was probably just there for company and had not been receptive for some time......maybe even laying or sitting.
