Out Fishing

I got my boat rigged up to go fishing tomorrow. Im hoping to catch the hell out of some bass. Word to the wise. If you buy a trolling motor, dont grab the prop and turn it on full speed to test it out! The bite on them things are nasty. :o

Good luck, the weather should be nice. Just watch out for any groups of solid non moving ducks floating in the water with a big grass clump 20 yds away and a guy poking out of the top. There have been quite a few fishermen down at the lake surprised when WWIII broke loose on them as real birds started dropping in. They got out of Dodge very quickly :D

Not worried about any duck hunters, im running up dum slough. Im gonna keep an eye out for hogs while im fishing. I got a permit for halfmoon but i should be good anyway to the high water mark. Ill post some pictures of my score if i get lucky. Thanks Tim.

That place is crazy! I probably hopped 100 logs and we had to get out of the boat and pull it over logs as well. Not an easy task with 30 gallons of water in the boat. I lost about 5 rivets out of my boat. We had to stuff artificial worms in the holes. I almost ran into a tree trying to put the plug back in after driving the water out. I also knocked the cavitation plate off my mud motor on the way out. I did catch around 30 bass, to bad they were all shorts. All that work and we came home with one bass that my buddy caught. It was fun though. At the store the day before i had a bilge pump in my hands and i put it back because i didnt want to spend the extra money. Next time i go to the store im gonna buy one for sure. Money well spent in my opinion!

Ohh yeah, we did see two nice bucks and an antlerless deer cross the slough on us on the way up.

you guys are killin me!! Bass fishing?!?! We've still got a foot of ice and ducks aren't in season anymore. When geese go out, I'll really be ready for some topwater explosions!!!
