Take the time this spring to listen to wild birds as much as possible, whether it be in the woods or on recordings. Then make it a point to immulate their rhytms and tones as close as possible. It will make you a more successful turkey hunter!!!

Scott,

I have a question for you. Got the mouth calls out this weekend and was gettin used to calling again. Got the yelp, cluck, cut, purr(finally) but still have issues with the kee kee. Seems if I move the call just a little to either side of the roof of my mouth I can get a good whistle sound. Can you give me any hints on how to work on the kee kee? Thanks bro!!

I need to call you and catch up on things

Tim,
Do you have a goose wingbone striker available? Someone at the Big Buck Expo had one,and I wasn't sure if was R N S or not.

Thanks

Its a 3 reed with some cut in the top reed, Dont remember the brand off hand. Any hints would be great.

Actually flipping will not matter if the top reed is cut...You'll be trying to whistle on the cut reed...and the yelp will be horrible

Tim you need either a straight reeded(non cut) double or triple reed, or a ghost cut(split v with the little point in the center notched out) or a side cut style call, such as a world champ or a cutter. I "kee kee run" in competition with a side cut style call...
