How many of you hunters use public use land? I hunt three PUL's and i find it is real crowded most of the time. I scout for deer season and come back opening day get in stand and find two or three hunters have set up real close to my stand. Last spring i roosted two birds two weeks before season, when i returned opening day and set up the was four people that came in and set within 100 yards of me.. I have one piece of Private land to hunt but i can only hunt at certain times of the day and year and restricted the the type of gun i can use on property, but i respect the land owners rules and appreciate the chance to hunt on his land..

I know exactly what you mean...You should try the quota system in florida, there are some really good hunts with very limited amounts of people...

I hunt primarily private land. I had a situation last year when I was out one saturday morning and located a bird. I got set up to start calling to that bird, the bird was responding very well....then all of a sudden I hear "DID YOU HEAR THAT!!!!" Granted I was trying to call this bird off the other posted property and unbeknownst to me the owner was out hunting that day.... That bird never made another peep!!!

Many of my public land hunts has ended in frustration as a result of other hunters. However, it can get just as strange hunting private land where the boundaries are not enforced. I've been stalked by hunters, had gobblers shot out from underneath me, and a lot of disruptions that wrecked my setups.
There is just nothing like coming to your blind in the morning and as the light comes up, finding cigarettes and shotgun hulls that aren't yours. No wait, a fresh gut pile by your tree stand-- yes, that's worse.
