it takes alot of air to run for one, predator calls wind me more than duck or goose calls do. other than that just practice and pick up a predator hunting dvd and mimic what they do. if there is nobody around to help you that is the best advice I can give.

I found that by cupping your hand around the end of the call you get a more raspy and realistic sound. Make sure you give it a good amount of air.
Let us know how that goes :)

The Cottontail screamer, in my opinion takes VERY LITTLE air. They have a very small reed and a very little air chamber so only a little bit of air escapes. They take no back pressure like a goose call to run. If you want to make it sound more coarse you can cup your hands around the end to muffle the sound and this makes it sound lower pitched.

Chuck you made a good choice! you dont need alot of air to run this call but you do need alot of air in a short hard burst to run this call effectively when you first set up. After a min or two you will prob.feel as if you are going to hyperventilate at this time you can make softer longer notes as if the rabbit was about to die cupping your hands on and off can help make this sound very realistic ! if you dont get a responce you can start your set over again and your lungs should be ready again .Keep in mind rabbits have small lungs the louder the sound the shorter the note !! Another great choice is the QB Squeezin Screamer this call works awesome start to finish or you can switch up to your C.T Screamer to finish them off and minamize your movement ! Good Luck ! I hope this helps ! Keep asking ?'s we were all new at this at one point!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rodney

the c.t. screamer with light air gives a great fawn distress also just like the fawn distess call makes a great c.t. scream. i cant find or tell the difference between them. with that being said what the other fellers said is also true. not to much preassure at all only to make it really scream up a storm. this call has a few different sounds with different air preassure. if i lose either call the other is a great back up. if you really blow hard it hits a high pitch whistle. when that happens on accident or on purpose ill quiver my lips or shake the call to give it life and excitement. give it a try. it takes practice for the whistle part good luck. ...Dave...
