Went over to the Fl. Bow Jamboree this morning and visited w/ Will Martz. Picked up one of his new "Bullet" grunt calls. You hold the tube against your body and drag the wood dowel across the groves on the tube. You can adjust the sound by cupping the tube opening with your hand. Really impressed by the call and it sounds better than most reed air grunt tubes I have used in the past. You can check him out at www.martzcalls.com

Looks pretty cool. How was the rest of the event?

I got there at 8:30am and it was not too crowded. Saturday is sign-up. Sunday & Monday it should be packed as always.

I wanted to shoot, but I put so much into the last two target shoots, I couldn't hook up a broadhead/target bow in time. The whole concept of a broadhead tournament is a little too out there for me. It's one thing to send a $10 arrow down the line, but to add a broadhead to it makes it an expensive adventure. Especially after you factor in target damage for getting ready for the shoot:eek: You don't have to Robin Hood an arrow with broadheads to end up with pieces in a pile.

Were there any good vendors?

My wife's Father about chopped off his arm last night, so she has been at Tampa General Hospital today, which means I'm home with the kids and could not get out there again...maybe tommorrow for the last day. Will Martz was the only vendor I saw, but I left at around 10:30am on Saturday. He was selling quite a few calls b4 I left..That Bullet grunt call was a hot item

I went out there today, and there were two vendors. I took the back way to Gander Mtn. and then went home and shot for the rest of the day. There was a ton of people there camping and wandering around. I thought for sure I'd hit the Mecca of Mom n Pop bowhunting vendors, but no dice. It was borderline lame, so I took off.

As far as vendors go, this year sucked, period. What vendors were there today?

I don't even know. I pulled up to a guy in a Mathews T-shirt with a DXT and asked him where the vendors were, and he pointed at a little cluster with two tables and said they were all there was. He asked what I was looking for, and I told him an STS for my wife's bow. He said they didn't have anything like that there, so I just left.

Sounds like you missed out on opertunity bro. Hardly any vendor competition, you could have had a display up and demostraded some calls. "You like the call Here's a coupon to buy it online". Have a code on it referenced to Chad Hodge so you get credit. Give 10% off or free shipping. Could have made a killing. No products to deal with, no money to deal with, and better yet you'd be promoting the site. sell sell sell...

I have been absolutely Grinding for the last few weeks. Believe me when I say I was not sad for not setting up there. It is a good idea you have though. I've only got one more event to do, then it's time to go hunt! The promotion does not stop there, it's a constant process. I put more effort into Spring selling, as people can actually hear the calls much better and come over. Blowing grunt calls at people walking by in a hurry to get back on the trail is not how I wanted to spend my LD weekend.

I'm going bowhunting up North around Halloween(Pa rut!), and goose hunting as well. That will be the best promoting I can do!

I know you put a lot of time into events and promoting man. I was just venting an idea. Your right on the turkey calls.

It is def. a good idea as far as the coupon goes. I will remember that.

This event was weird in that there were not really any spectators, it was pretty much all shooters. It is held out in the middle of BFE. It looked like some kind of Militia training camp.

Sounds crazy. Ive never been to any kind of hunting events, so i dont really know much about them. Everytime ones going on it seems im to busy to go or already missed it.
