Just went to the QB website and they got me again. Got the Rattle Master and the Beginner's Friction Calling DVD. Figured I would watch that because it is something I am interested in using. I have always been a box guy but I thought it is time for me to consider alternatives. Hope the DVD is longer than the one that came with the Squeezin' Bleat ;).
I def need to stay away from the QB site for a while, I am buying up calls quicker than they can make em'...HAHAHA Just Kidding.
Thanks For the Great Calls and Customer Service! Hope this Rattle Bag gets here before I Tag out!

I can't wait until Spring Gobbler season! You are going to go crazy with the vast assortment of calls that we have to offer! Also, we pick up a large amount of new members who are dying to talk turkey! This place is rockin' 24/7 for a couple of months!:D

Looking forward to checking out that new QB turkey vest..Is it only available in MO Obesession....Is DK gonna put out a new vest before spring? That would be nice, but I'm not holding my breath on that one

The QB Turkey Vest is going to be RAD! You guys are going to like it.:D
There's some madness going down at DK. It is under wraps for the time being. We just got together and talked about it yesterday.

You know the MRSP on that new QB turkey vest Chad?
I hope DK is stepping up their game on getting some new products out on the market soon. Sam was decked out in DK that day we stalked JC and if he was not 15 yards in front of me, I could not see him. I hope DK puts out some light breathable (like loose under armour) long sleeve shirts.

MSRP is not set yet.
DK is under new ownership, so with that comes new opportunity. I am working close with them to chart a course in a new direction. I will bring up your suggestion, as well as any others.
Time will tell, brother

I can't find any QB clothing on your website or online...? I did not know y'all made clothing. Where can I see some of the clothing or QB logo clothing on the web? Can you send me a link or post some photos so I can see what you are talking about...Very interested.
What are the advantages of having the QB Turkey Vest? Is it pocketed for calls or have retractable lanyards, or any other features that would make it stand out from other hunting clothing and turkey hunting products?
Thanks in Advance.

That sounds great, looking forward to talking turkey...Wish I could get some Deer Slayers to talk it up with me on here. Figured there would be a lot of talking with the Deer Call Thread that I made...Guess they are all out hunting. I only get mornings during the week, Saturdays and the 4 vacation days to go out...Needless to say I have buck fever and would love for others to share their experience with me while I am not out in the field. :(
I look forward to the Turkey guys...I get the feeling that this forum is based around Turkey and Bird more than Deer but I did get action in the Predator Threads.
What Turkey Call would you say is the best from QB? Like I said I am looking at getting some friction calls. The X-Pot looks easy and I am very interested in the Triple Threat. I can't wait to get the DVD...I hope I learn a lot from it and get an idea of what call is best for me along with what Strikers to use. I am totally Stoked for Toms...Only 6 more months..
Thanks :)

This is the Facebook link, with the Sneek Preview of the Turkey Vest. Specifications are subject to change, as new ideas and such are always tossed around, and there is still a couple of months until roll out.

As far as clothing goes, the hats and Bandit/Bandito headnets are all there is for now. The Bandito 3/4 headnet is my absolute favorite in all the world. I was wearing one WAY before I came onboard with QB. The ability to form it to your face, and wear it around your neck until ready for battle, is The Bee's Knees! The Realtree version says Hardwoods, but the last couple I recieved are in APG, actually.
The DK that were talking about is DK Flatwoods camo, a seperate company that I am sponsored by. It is designed for the Southern hunter, with Palmettos,Honeysuckle,Live Oak, and Muscadine plants being the primary elements. The basis hovers around the color green, which in reality works anywhere at any time of the year. I was killing ducks and geese in cut corn last year with it, and was surrounded with deer last month in it while bowhunting Pa in the Autumn leaves. Those were the luckiest deer alive, as I didn't want to lose a day of duck hunting to butcher one! I planned only loose an arrow if a double droptine Monster showed up:D

You are correct about a lot of guys being out in the woods hunting right now. I call this the "Money Time". This is when a lot of the Pro's are out trying to kill the next buck to show up on the cover of a DVD, or call package. Rodney,Mike,Dave,Tony, and others are usually very active in here, but they are low profile at this point.
What you will find is, as people hunt hard for years or become Pro-Staffer's they tend to become "Specialists" in certain areas. Some concentrate on turkeys, and deer, while another may go with waterfowl and Upland game, or any combination. It gets hard to give 100% sometimes due to the overlap, like say, Ducks and Deer being in at the same time, etc.
Spring Turkey season is a whole other beast, as many people have been off for a couple of months, and are ready to get into the woods. This is like a cabin fever of sorts, that brings out the masses. Unlike deer season, you will find TOO MUCH turkey talk, and almost get information overload here:p
Talking about deer tactics is a bit hard due to the fact that there is so much difference between geographic locations of the hunters, and so many other factors involved. Some areas have the Rut in the beginning of bowseason, while others have it during the middle of rifle season. Things will be def. different if bucks are chasing does across a logging clear-cut in 30 deg. while at the same time hunters are perched in trees while it is 90 deg in the shade.
One thing for sure, I would love the chance to bring my 7600 .30-'06 up to Maine and have a spin around the area of Moosehead Lake in a couple of weeks! That sounds way better than being up to my neck in Palmettos and mosquitos here!
As for the best call to try,
I would suggest the Triple Threat,Trifecta, and either of The Eradicators. You would have the bases covered with any of these calls. You get a ton of sounds and options with the first two. I would lean on the Triple Threat, as you would then get two strikers. This would bring your total to three then, if you picked up an Eradicator as well. You would then have a Carbon,Plexi, and Wood striker, allowing you to find the exact sound you were looking for! My personal favorite is the Eradicator Glass. It is one of the best sounding mass produced calls on the market, and you won't be let down with it.

Man Chad, What I would do to be sponsored like you by so many companies. I wish That was my full time profession. I live it everyday, I help others through proper training of shooting, hunting, and outdoor sports along with the advice I give others on Forums.
I hunt ever chance I get and do extremely well for myself as a hunter. I guess I just don't have the circle of pros around me to get me in the door. Your the man. Best of Luck in all your seasons and work.
Man am I jealous of you and all the other Pro Hunters in this World. Some people hunt and others HUNT (I know I am in the HUNT Category..I do it year round with lots of species). I guess I will just have to keep posting Pics, and keep adding to my demo video and ship that out to the companies that I use religiously, hoping that one will come back with a "YES".
Didn't get officially turned down from Sitka this year but they stopped communication...Too bad too because all I wanted to do was field test their Gear in the Extreme cold conditions that I hunt, I already have the gear (I just wanted to be part of the Team), Guess I just didn't have the Qualifications that they were looking for like 6 time World Elk Champion Caller or 3 time Regional Turkey Caller...We just don't have those kinds of competitions up here in Maine....Hey there is an idea maybe I will start them up, but us Mainers are more about the hunt than call contests. If you don't bring home the game the calls and talk are not worth crap.
I want to write for the hunting mags and Websites that I would represent (Like you do) as Pro Staff because I have so much to say and so many stories to share...Oh well as the time passes, Experience will continue to be Earned and Learned, and even if I never get sponsored I will always be a Hunter.

Tyson, thanks for the well wishes.
I must say first off, that I am not a "Pro Hunter", in the sense of the word that it is what I do for a living. I am a manager for a large grocery store chain. Almost all Pro Staffers have day jobs, and do this in the remaining time. My job allows me to work weird hours that are not the everyday. I work the closing shift at my store, usually 4pm-12am. This allows me to get up and hunt the next day after sleeping a couple of hours, and not have to worry about being to work until the afternoon. The most important items I have with me are Mt. Dew AMP, and Visene Eyedrops. My passion for the outdoors is what drives me from July until May. I can sleep in the month of June:D
There are only a select few in the industry that do it for a living exclusively, like Waddell. But even he has to have income from another source like branding his image. The Drury Brothers are another example. Every one of The Benoit's have day jobs. Lanny has a snowmobile shop, Lane works for VDOT, and Shane does Stucco.
Never be jealous of anyone. You have the ability to go as far in the Outdoor World as you want. It isn't easy, believe me. There are all kinds of jokers in the background trying to steal your ideas and cut you down every chance they get to further themselves and make themselves have a higher profile. You have to have thick skin, and not pay attention to them. There is enough room for everybody, you just have to find your place, and not let them put you there. You can polish a turd as much as you want, but in the end it is still a turd.
Sponsorship is a great thing to have, but it can also lead to problems, and complicate things. Above all else make sure you enjoy every minute you spend in the outdoors alone, with friends, or with family. Pass down help when it is needed, and learn something new always. Don't sweat the whole calling contest thing, as in the end not to many people really care. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be the best caller you can be, but it isn't life or death as to what title you have. Look at Primos Game calls for example, they have Zero interest in the competition side of calling, has it hurt their business? As a matter of fact, going back to my first paragraph, one of their requirements to be on their Pro-Staff is that you have to have a full time job. Everyday people can make it. You just have to have a couple of key elements that take you beyond the Everyday if you want to set yourself apart from the mob. These elements only come from years of Grinding, and not only learning, but Mastering the game from every angle. This goes farther than killing animals, or winning contests.
You are in good position. You can wear what you want, shoot what you want, and truly freestyle it. Don't be in a rush to get tied up with sponsors at the moment. Find the best gear that fits your style, use it and learn about it, and then try some of the other offerings. Once you are settled on what you like, and believe in, then you should revisit the whole concept of getting associated with the company.
Remember the most important thing is to help others enjoy the Outdoors, nothing else. This ensures that you will be able to be out there, and the next generations will as well. There is nothing wrong with looking out for yourself at times, but putting others first will take you a long way in this deal.

I had the mesh suit on. Its very affordable at 60 dollars and extremely light weight and comfortable. I think they are made to be worn over your clothing. The pants are semi see through in the right light. I wear a pair of nylon adidas shorts underneath that ive had since high school. Feels like your naked from the waist down. I wont go to Jumper without this suit. The only regrets i have is that i didnt buy a size larger for the top piece.
If they made a suit in the material like the under armour im sure they would be even more comfortable.

Man that DK Flatwoods Camo is crazy GOOD! Tell me the QB Turkey Vest will be offered in other colors PLEASE!!!! That Camo looks like the bomb for Florida, but up here in Maine I would stick out so bad the Turkeys would probably die from laughing at me before it worked...hahaha.j/k
Seriously Please keep me posted on that Turkey Vest, I would love more info...Can you pitch it to us so we know what makes it stand out from the rest? Any way you can post Pics of the prototype....Probably not, I am in Product Development and I know how it is...Just tell them you have some hungry wolves who want to see this stuff and know what colors it will be offered in.
Will it be offered through QB or DK?
Many Thanks,

Maybe they can get in with Gore and get some rights to Optifade :D! I know it wasn't designed for Turkeys (Ungulates and other hoofed animals is it's main purpose) but it worked great on the Turkeys for me! Plus it would match the rest of my gear!

I can pretty much assure you that Mossy Oak will be the pattern choice for the first year. There is a strong relationship between QB and MO, and in these times it isn't financially feasable to pay royalties to every company under the sun for a product that is in a test phase.

Well I placed my order last Thursday from QB, hoping it comes in the mail today...Kinda long for a shipment from NY to Maine. Usually a 2-3 day max but here is day 4 (Business days) so I have my fingers crossed.
Checked a scrape 50-60' to the right of my tree stand this morning and it had fresh tracks in the soft area of it and the buck twisted the licking stick all crazy since Monday. Hoping the Rattle bag and a few other tricks I have up my sleeve (Like the Brawler and Squeezin' Bleat along with the Tink's All Season Sticks) can bring him in during the light...that is if the rattle bag gets here soon (Otherwise I am bringing the horns)! Very Excited about the gear and the active scrape!
Hopefully I will be posting some deer pics this weekend...and if it is the buck who owns the scrape its going to be a BIG Maine buck! His tracks made most bucks look like doe tracks! I hope there is a Basket Rack on that Monster!:D

What did you order on Thurs? I thought you had almost everything!:p
Any buck killed in Maine is a trophy to me! That place is one Hell of a hard place to sort out to the "flatlander". Our gang has hunted the Moosehead Lake area for many years, and killed some decent bucks, but there were many times where just seeing a rabbit was the only action you would get for days. The landscape has changed quite a bit there, but it gives you the true wilderness feeling when you hit the Big Woods!
Tyson, have you ever been to the Kittery Trading Post?

HAHA...Yeah why..?:) Funny..have you been there? I love that store! You have to come see our local store up here in my neck of the woods.
The Store's sign reads: "Shotguns, Wedding Dresses, Cold Beer". Personally I think it should go in the Opposite Order...HAHAHA!

I always make it a point to stop in there and be amazed by their tiny gun selection:p I go there and L.L. Bean, just to get the nostalgic feeling, before going to do some damage in the clearcuts. There is this seafood restaurant across the street from KTP called "The Weathervane", that is simply amazing! IDK if it is even still there or not, but they had this box meal that came with clam strips, fries, shrimp, and lobster nuggets and hushpuppies. It came in a little white cardboard box, and ran about $12. We'd always stop on the way out of ME, and shop at KTP and then get some food for the road.
QB Pro-Staffer, Joe Judd does turkey hunting seminars there during their big Spring Hunting Event. You should make plans to go there and get some great tips and instruction from him. They have a great selection of QB products there as well.
